Importing transaction data helps ensure your client records are complete — so you can view historical transfers, deposits, and withdrawals directly in each client’s profile.

📌 Note: Swivel Sync keeps policy and account values current but it does not create or update individual line-item transactions (such as contributions, withdrawals, or transfers).

If you’d like to include detailed transaction history, you can manually import those records using the Transaction Import.

What You’ll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A CSV file of your clients’ transfer history using the column headers below

  • Access to Swivel’s Data Import tool (Owner and/or Manager User Role)

Prepare Your CSV File

Your file should include the following required column headers:

Column Header Name

Description

Example

Product Number

The Policy or Account number tied to the transaction

1137532, CM954321U, 9999-7878

Transaction Type

The transaction type identifies the type of activity that occurs within an account or policy.

Swivel has the following Transaction Types pre-configured for your account:

  • Contribution

  • Incoming Transfer

  • Outgoing Transfer

  • Premium Payment

  • Withdrawal

Status

The status of the transaction.

Pending, Complete

Transaction Date

Date of the transaction

01/01/2025

**Important: Date must be in mm/dd/yyyy format.

Amount

Amount of the Transaction

$6500, $25000

**Important: Amount must be in number or currency format.

Advice

Any information that you would like included as a Transaction Note.

Personal Check #1234, 2020 Roth, etc.

📌 Note: Make sure the column headers match exactly and all format requirements are observed -- any extra spaces, typos, or incorrect format will cause the import to fail.
