What is the Contact Bulk Update Feature?
The Contact Bulk Update Feature in Swivel allows you to quickly make changes to multiple contact records at once.
Use Bulk Update when you need to update data and/or clear data from the below fields:
Assign Users
Assign User Groups
Contact Category
Contact Status
Add Tag
Remove Tag
Replace Tag
Servicing Agent
Lead Source
Zone
Office
Do Not Contact
Deceased
π Note: Only users with the Owner user role can perform bulk updates.
Using the Bulk Update Feature
π§ Important: Make sure to filter contacts before completing any bulk update actions to ensure you are only updating the correct group of contacts.
From the main navigation menu > click on the Contacts tab
Click the Advanced Filter button to narrow down to just the contacts you want to update and > click Filter to display the results
Navigate to the three dot Action Menu > click the Bulk Update button
From the Bulk Update Contacts pop-up, select the desired field(s) to update
Click Submit

Always filter and double-check your selections before applying a bulk update.
Test on a smaller group of contacts if you're new to using the feature.
Export your filtered contact list before a large bulk update as a backup.
Users can also reference the Bulk Updates Report from the reports tab to see a history of bulk updates made in their account.

While each bulk update applies to one primary field at a time, there are scenarios where you will also be asked to update any dependent fields. For example, when you select Contact Category you will then also be prompted to make a selection for the Contact Status.

It can! This is why it is so important you use the Advanced Filter to narrow your list before applying updates.

Yes! You have the option to Unassign Users, Unassign Groups, Remove Tag, change the Servicing Agent to No Servicing Agent, change the lead source to No Lead Source, No Zone, and No Office.

In some cases, yes. If you automation rules tied ot the fields you're updating (e.g. Contact Status), those automations will run. Be sure to review your automations settings before running bulk updates and unpublish automations if needed.
