Overview
Product values and Contributions & Withdrawals transactions must be mapped to Swivel Summary totals in order for those amounts to be included in Swivel Summary calculations.
Mapping tells Swivel Summary which product values and transaction data should contribute to each total. When values are not mapped, those amounts are not included in Swivel Summary calculations and may result in blank or incomplete totals.
🔍 Tip: Mapping is configured once per product. After a product is mapped, all instances of that product attached to contacts in the account use the same mapping configuration.
Types of Values You Can Map
Swivel Summary totals can be populate from two sources:
Product values — Numbers stored as values on a policy or account (Current Value, Cash Value, etc.)
Contributions & Withdrawals transactions — Transaction records entered in the Contributions & Withdrawals section of a policy or account.
Accessing Value Mapping
You can access product value mapping from multiple locations:
A contact’s Swivel Summary — Open a contact record, go to Swivel Summary, locate a policy or account, and click Map Values.
Mapped Products Report — From the report, select Map for a product to open the mapping editor.
Settings > Advanced Setup > Products — Open a product to configure its mappings.
From the mapping editor, select the values that should contribute to each Swivel Summary total.
The available mapping options depend on the product and totals being configured.
Snapshot Totals Mapping
Snapshot Totals provide a point-in-time view of policy or account values. For more information, see Snapshot for Swivel Summary.
You can map values for:
Total Contributions
Total Withdrawals
Current Balance
Net Contributions cannot be mapped because it is calculated automatically from Total Contributions and Total Withdrawals.
Total Contributions & Total Withdrawals
For Total Contributions and Total Withdrawals choose one of the following mapping methods:
Map a product value — Select a product value to populate the Snapshot Total. See also: Values
Roll up transactions — Calculate the Snapshot Total from Contributions & Withdrawals transactions recorded in Swivel. See also: Contributions & Withdrawals
If you choose to roll up transactions:
Total Contributions includes all transactions whose transaction type has an intent of Transfer or Contribution.
Total Withdrawals includes all transaction whose transaction type has an intent of Withdrawal.
📌 Note: Transaction-based rollups include only transactions whose transaction type has an intent of Transfer, Contribution, or Withdrawal. Transactions with unspecified or unsupported intents are not included in Snapshot Totals. For more information on managing transaction types, see Transactions and Transaction Types and Adding New Transaction Types.
