Text Registration Process

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Select your Swivel SMS Phone Number

  1. From the main navigation menu, click Settings

  2. Click Communication

  3. Click Text Message Accounts

  4. Click the +Add Phone Number button

  5. Fill out the Name field (e.g. Swivel SMS number, etc.)

  6. Enter the desired area code, select phone number from drop-down.

  7. Click Create account

Step 2: Register

  1. Once you have created your account (see step 1), click Register

  2. Click Next

  3. Complete your Business Profile

  4. Click Next

  5. Complete your Personal Profile

  6. Click Next

  7. Complete your Campaign Profile

  8. Complete the Compliance Profile

  9. Click Save Registration

πŸ“Œ Note: You must use the Legal Business Name. Using an incorrect business name such as DBA or a trade name of the company instead of the official legally registered name will result in rejection. The Legal Name must not be abbreviated in any way and must appear exactly as it is filed with the IRS.

Text Registration Review

After your click Save Registration, Swivel will review your submission for errors and potential issues, and provide recommendations. Once you have reviewed the errors and made the requested updates, you will be ready to submit.

  1. Review the recommendations and update

  2. Click Submit & Pay


Text Registration Approval Process

🚧 Important: Please allow up to 10 business days for the Text Registration Approval process.

Once you have submitted your Text Campaign Registration, you will be able to track the approval process from the Texting and Phones page.

How to Track Texting Registration Progress

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Communication

  3. Click Text Message Accounts

  4. Click your phone number under the Text Message Accounts

  5. View updates

πŸ“Œ Note: Users with the Owner role will be notified via email when your texting registration is approved or requires updates.

  • Approved β€” confirms your registration is complete and highlights where to start texting (contact records, Marketing, and Automations)

  • Update Required β€” explains what to review and links directly to our help article on registration best practices

No action needed on your end β€” notifications are sent automatically as your registration moves through the approval process.

Text Registration Status

The Texting Registration will track process is broken out into three phases:

  1. Profile

  2. Brand

  3. Campaign

The badges will change as the status of each phase is updated. Statuses include:

  • Draft: Not Submitted

  • Pending: Submitted and awaiting review

  • In-Review: Moved to a manual review process

  • Approved: Registration has been approved

  • Denied: Registration has been denied. Must start registration process all over again (including an additional registration fee).

  • Failed: Registration had errors that must be corrected. Must start registration process all over again (including an additional registration fee).

Once completed, your SMS number will show Enabled, and the Texting Registration tile will show Approved.
