Exporting Contacts

Export your contacts as a CSV file to use for:

  • Reporting and analysis

  • Mail merges

  • External tools or Systems

When to Use This

Use this when you need to:

  • Export all contacts

  • Export a filtered group of contacts

  • Export a saved contact list

Start Here

πŸ‘‰ Navigate to Contacts and use the Action Menu β†’ Export

Export Options

Swivel Allows you to export contacts in three ways: export all contacts, export filtered contacts, and export a saved contact list.

πŸ” Tip: You can also export all Swivel Reports as a CSV file. Visit the Reports collection to learn more

Export All Contacts

  1. Go to Contacts

  2. Click the three-dot Action Menu

  3. Select Export

πŸ“Œ Note: For security purposes, users currently cannot export Medicare Number or Social Security Number as part of an export. This information may only be imported.

Export Filtered Contacts

Use this when you only need a specific group.

  1. Go to Contacts

  2. Click Advanced Filters (below the search bar)

  3. Apply your desired filters

  4. Click Filter

  5. Click the three-dot Action Menu

  6. Select Export

πŸ‘‰ This exports only the filtered results.

Export a Contact List

πŸ” Tip: For more information on creating Contact Lists, please visit our Creating Contact Lists article.

  1. Go to Contacts, Clients, or Leads (depending on where you initially created your list)

  2. Click View Lists

  3. Select the desired list

  4. Click the three-dot Action Menu

  5. Select Export.

Understanding the Mailing Label Field

The Mailing Label field in a contact export:

  • Displays the household name(s) when applicable

  • Defaults to the individual contact name if no household exits (i.e. no Spouse associated)

This is helpful when creating mailing lists or uploading the CSV file for a mail merge/create mailing labels to mail to the Household rather than each individual contact.

πŸ“Œ Note: Swivel does not include a built-in mail merge feature.
