Overview
Microsoft 365 users can sync shared, delegated, and secondary calendars with Swivel alongside their primary calendar.
Shared and secondary calendars are view only. Swivel can display events from these calendars but will never create, edit, or delete events on them.
đ Note: No additional setup required. If your Microsoft 365 account is already connected to Swivel, calendars that have been shared with your Microsoft account will automatically appear in your calendar settings after your next sync. Simply select the calendars you want to sync.
How to sync a Shared or Secondary Calendar
Go to My Integrations.
Select your connected Microsoft account.
Click Manage.
Open the Calendar tab.
Check the box next to each calendar you want to sync.
Every calendar available to your Microsoft account will be listed here. Your primary calendar is starred, while shared and secondary calendars display a View only badge.
đ Tip: Shared and secondary calendars have sync turned off by default. Your existing calendar sync will continue working as it does today unless you choose to enable an additional calendar.
What does View only mean?
View only means Swivel can display events from the calendar, but it cannot create, edit, or delete events on that Microsoft calendar.
New appointments created in Swivel will continue to be added to your primary Microsoft 365 calendar. Shared and secondary calendars cannot be selected as your default calendar.
Who can see events from a shared calendar?
When you enable a shared calendar, its events sync to your Swivel calendar.
Other users who have access to the same shared calendar in Microsoft will not automatically see those events in Swivel.
đ Note: Having access to the same shared calendar in Microsoft 365 does not automatically give a teammate access to those events in Swivel.
How to allow a teammate to see the appointments:
Return to your calendar settings.
Open Manage Access.
Enable access for each teammate who should be able to see your appointments.
Manage Access applies to your Swivel appointments, including appointments synced from a shared calendar.
Don't see your shared calendar?
First, confirm that the calendar has already been shared with your account in Microsoft 365/Exchange. Swivel can only display calendars Microsoft makes available to your account. If the calendar isn't available to you in Microsoft, it won't appear as an option in Swivel.

First, make sure the calendar is shared with you in Microsoft 365. Once it appears in My Integrations â Microsoft â Manage â Calendar, check the box next to the View only calendar to sync its events to your Swivel calendar.

Select your secondary calendar from your Microsoft calendar settings in Swivel. It will appear as View only. Its events will display in Swivel, but new appointments you create will continue to be added to your primary calendar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I select a shared calendar as my default (star a shared calendar)?
Only your primary, writable calendar can be selected as your default. New appointments created in Swivel are added to your primary calendar.
Why can't my teammate see the shared calendar events?
Shared calendar events sync to the Swivel user who enabled the calendar. To allow teammates to see those appointments, grant them access using Manage Access.
Do I need to reconnect my Microsoft account?
No. Connected Microsoft accounts automatically pick up available shared calendars on the next calendar sync.
Can I sync shared Google calendars?
Not yet. Shared and secondary calendar syncing is currently available for Microsoft 365 only. Google accounts currently sync only the primary calendar.
