What are Appointment Types?
Appointment Types are used to organize different kinds of appointments or meetings based on their purpose. They help streamline scheduling and ensure that the appropriate resources and time slots are allocated for each type of appointment.
For example, your account is pre-configured with the following appointment types:
Follow-Up
General
Initial
Client Review
Each appointment type serves a specific purpose, helping to efficiently manage time and scheduling.
π Tip: For maximum value, make sure you have completed the calendar and email sync.
Adding New Appointment Types
From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup
Select the Appointment Types section > click the +New button

Complete the New Appointment Type form

Position
Default Duration
Click Save
π Tip: Default Duration is the "go-to" timeframe for the appointment type. For example, if you schedule a meeting without setting a duration in the invite, the default duration (30 minutes, 1 hour, etc) will automatically populate.
Edit Existing Appointment Types
From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup
Select the Appointment Types section
Go the Action Menu
> select Edit for the appointment type you wish to edit.Complete the Edit Appointment Type form

Click Save.
π Tip: Appointment Types can also have configured workflows to each Appointment Type to help efficiently manage the appointment scheduling, confirming, and upholding of appointments. To configure a workflow, simply click into the respective appointment type and click +Add in the workflow template window. Learn more at Workflows.
Assigning Color Codes to Appointment Types
Users have the ability to add/edit color coding of configured appointment types. This color code shows up on both the Events + Appointments Dashboard widget as well on the appointment card in the contact.
From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup
Select the Appointment Types section
Go to the Color column > click the Edit icon

Select any color.
Merge Appointment Types
From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup
Select the Appointment Types section
From the Appointment Types page > click

Complete the Merge Lead Sources form
Merge From
Merge To
Remove original Lead Source after merge recommended
Click Merge
π IMPORTANT! Please use the Merge feature with extreme caution. Objects merged cannot be un-merged.
Appointment Type Field Definitions
Field Name | Definition |
Name | The name to represent a specific appointment type. |
Description | Additional and helpful information about the appointment type. |
Position | The order in which appointment types should display from a drop-down selection menu. |
Default Duration
| Identifies the pre-selected appointment length at time of creation. Once an appointment is created, the duration can be modified at any time. |
