What are Event Types?

Event Type refers to the different categories or classifications of events based on their purpose, format and audience.

For example, there are education events like workshops and seminars where attendees learn about Investment products, Social Security, or Medicare. There are client events like client appreciation, client reviews, or even annual enrollment.

Swivel is pre-configured with the following event types:

  • Seminar

Each event type serves a specific role in bringing people together for different reasons.


Adding Event Types

  1. From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup

  2. Go to Marketing & Sales section > click Event Types.

  3. From the Event Types page > click +New button

  4. Complete New Event Type form

    1. Name

    2. Description optional

    3. Click Save

πŸ” Tip: Event Types can also have configured workflows to each Event Type to help efficiently manage the logistics of each event. To configure a workflow, simply click into the respective Event Type and click +Add in the workflow template window. Learn more at Workflows.


Edit Existing Event Types

  1. From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup

  2. Select the Marketing & Sales section > click Event Types

  3. Go the Action Menu > select Edit for the appointment type you wish to edit.

  4. Complete the Edit Event Type form

    1. Name

    2. Description Optional

    3. Click Save.


Merge Event Types

  1. From the left-side main menu, click the Settings tab > Advanced Setup

  2. Select the Marketing & Sales section > click Event Types

  3. From the Event Types page > click

  4. Complete the Merge Event Types form

    1. Merge From

    2. Merge To

    3. Remove original Lead Source after merge recommended

    4. Click Merge

πŸ›‘ IMPORTANT! Please use the Merge feature with extreme caution. Objects merged cannot be un-merged.
