A Swivel email template is a pre-designed layout that can be used for broadcast email campaigns, appointment reminders, and single, one-off emails to your contacts. Utilizing email templates allows for:
Structure: Create and use predefined layouts for your email including headers, body, and display.
Design Elements: Add your own images and branding elements, or select stock images from the template builder.
Purpose-Specific: Email templates can be tailored to specific use cases such as Annual Review reminders, AEP communications, Birthday greetings and more!
You have two options for utilizing email templates in Swivel:
Create an email template from scratch.
Customize a Basic Template or Pre-Built Template found in the Templates section.
π Tip: Swivel comes pre-configured with a Happy Birthday Email Template and an Annual Review Email Template. To view, click the Marketing tab and navigate to the Templates tile.
How to Build a New Email Template
π Note: Building Email Templates from scratch gives you full creative control, but it also requires some previous design experience. For the best results, we recommend using our library of pre-designed templates, which can be easily customized to your specific needs.
Click the Marketing tab on the main navigation menu.
From the Templates card (far right of the page), < click the +New Template button and select Email from the drop-down menu to launch the Email Template Builder.
Build the email using the Email Template Builder
Template Name (required)
Custom Content Blocks: This is where you add your text, images, call-to-action, and more. To add a content block, select it from the left-hand panel and drag it to the desired location. Options include:

Banner
Video
Timer
General Settings Block
Make additional customizations within the above selected Custom Content Blocks.
Click Save button (top right corner) once complete.
How to Customize a Pre-Designed Email Template
Click the Marketing tab on the main navigation menu.
From the Templates card (far right of the page), < click the +New Template button. From here you can either select:

How to Edit an Existing Email Template
Click the Marketing tab on the main navigation menu.
From the Templates card (far right of the page), < click the name of the desired template, or the View All Templates button at the bottom to view the complete list of existing templates.
Once you have selected the desired email template to edit, you can use the Email Template Builder to edit.

Delete an Existing Email Template
π§ Warning: Use with extreme caution. This action cannot be undone.
Click the Marketing tab on the main navigation menu.
From the Templates card (far right of the page), < click the View All Templates button at the bottom to view the complete list of existing templates.
Navigate to the Email Template you wish to delete and < click the three-dot action menu < click Delete. Note: You can also create new templates from this view by clicking the +New Template button.
Using Email Template for Broadcast Emails
An Email Template can be selected from the Email Wizard as part of your email campaign.
π Tip: Remember to create your contact list before launching the Email Wizard. For more information, see Creating Contact Lists.
π Tip: Please make sure you have made any desired edits to the Email Template before launching the Email Wizard as no edits to the template can be made from the wizard.
Sending Broadcast Emails from the Contacts
From left side navigation menu, go to Contacts and click > Email button
Note: you can also go to your Leads tab and/or Clients tab
Complete the Email Wizard form
Step 1: Create Email (This is where you will select the email template)

Step 3: Schedule
Step 4: Send
Option 2: Sending Broadcast Emails from Marketing Campaign
From left side navigation menu, go to Marketing and select the desired Campaign from the Campaign Tile.
Once you are on the desired Campaign page, scroll to the Media Channels tile and < click +New Channel and select Email
Complete the Email Wizard form

Does Swivel provide any stock email templates I can use?
Yes! Stock email templates can be found on the Basic Template and Pre-Built Template page(s).
Are there limits to how many email templates I can create and store?
No, there are no limits.
Is there a template for adding an email signature?
While we cannot save an email signature in Swivel in the same way you create and save one in outlook or gmail, you can create email templates from the Marketing -> Email Templates page and add a signature there. That way whenever you choose to send a created template it will automatically populate for you.

Can I upload my own images?
Yes. Use the Image button to drag and drop the location of the image into the Email Template. This will pull up the Image Gallery tile where you can upload your desired, saved image.
Does Swivel have stock images I can use for my email templates?
Yes! From the Image Gallery tile, click the Stock button and use the search bar to view available stock images. Double click the image to insert it into the template.
Can I paste my own email template using html?
Yes, select the Code Editor button at the bottom of the Email Template builder to insert your code.
How do I use personalization tokens in my email template?
Use the Text button to insert text into your email template. From the Text Block tile, use the Merge Tags drop-down to select the desired personalization token.
Can I duplicate or copy an email template?
No, not at this time.
Can I edit the email template from the Email Wizard?
No. All edits to the email template must be made using the email template experience.
