Swivel Assistant
AI Credits and the Swivel Assistant
Which Swivel Assistant requests use AI credits, how many credits your plan includes, where to see your balance, and what happens when your account runs out.
What Uses AI Credits
Section titled “What Uses AI Credits”The Swivel Assistant shares your account’s AI credits with Ask AI and the meeting notetaker. One balance covers all three.
| Free | Uses AI credits |
|---|---|
| Help questions answered from the help center | Looking up your Swivel data |
| Bringing in the support team | Changing your Swivel data |
| Making files, running exports and reports |
Only a request where the assistant used Swivel’s tools is charged. Credits are counted from how much text the assistant reads and writes to answer; the actions themselves are free. A long chat costs more per request than a new one, because the assistant reads the whole chat each time.
Connecting your own AI app to Swivel does not use Swivel AI credits. See Connect Your Own AI to Swivel (MCP).
Credits Included Each Month
Section titled “Credits Included Each Month”Every Swivel plan includes 3,600 AI credits each month. Premier includes 7,200 AI credits each month. Included credits are added on the first use in each calendar month and do not roll over. Purchased credits do not expire, and included credits are used first.
For pack prices, automatic reload and the full rules, see AI and Transcription Credits.
See Your Balance
Section titled “See Your Balance”In the Swivel Assistant
Section titled “In the Swivel Assistant”Who can do this: Every user in a Swivel account.
- Open the Swivel Assistant.
- Find the fuel gauge marked credits in the window’s header. The needle shows the share of credits left: amber means less than 10% of the month’s credits are left, and red means none are left.
- Click the gauge to see how many AI credits are left, with links to Usage history and Buy credits.
When less than 10% of the month’s credits are left, a line above the chat says how many remain and when they reset, with a Buy credits button.
On the Billing Page
Section titled “On the Billing Page”Who can do this: Account Owners.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Under Account Settings, select Billing.
- Find the AI Credits panel. To see where credits went, click View AI credit usage. The usage page lists credits by day and person, with Swivel Assistant as its own activity.
Usage history and Buy credits in the assistant open these same Owner pages. If you are not an Owner, ask an Owner on your account.
When Your Account Runs Out
Section titled “When Your Account Runs Out”When your account has no AI credits left:
- Help questions still get answers. Help is always free, even at zero.
- The assistant does not start work in your Swivel data. It tells you the account is out of AI credits and offers to bring in the team.
- The chat shows “Your account is out of AI credits.” above the message box, with Buy credits.
- Work already started finishes. A request that started with credits finishes even if it takes the balance below zero. The negative balance comes off the next credits added.
- Owners get an email when the account runs out.
To keep working, an Owner can buy credits or turn on automatic reload under Settings > Billing > AI Credits. See AI and Transcription Credits.
Why did one request use more credits than another?
Section titled “Why did one request use more credits than another?”Credits depend on how much the assistant reads and writes. A request over many records, a large file, or a long chat uses more. Starting a new chat for a new topic keeps requests smaller.
Can I stop a long request before it uses too many credits?
Section titled “Can I stop a long request before it uses too many credits?”Yes. When one request reaches 200 credits, the assistant asks “Keep going?” Click Stop here to end it. See Get Work Done With the Swivel Assistant.
Can the assistant buy credits for me?
Section titled “Can the assistant buy credits for me?”An Owner can ask the assistant to buy AI credit packs. It shows a preview with the price first and buys only after you confirm. Automatic reload settings are changed on the Billing page only.
