Swivel Assistant
Ask the Swivel Assistant for Help
Ask the Swivel Assistant how to do something in Swivel. Help answers come from the Swivel help center, know the page you are on, and are always free.
Ask a Question
Section titled “Ask a Question”Who can do this: Every Swivel user.
- Click the sparkles button in the bottom-right corner of Swivel.
- Type your question, for example “How do I add a spouse to a household?” or “Why can’t I see the Billing page?”
- Press Enter.
The assistant searches this help center and writes an answer. When the answer comes from specific articles, it lists them under Related articles so you can read more.
For a how-to question, the assistant gives you the steps. When it can do the task for you, it may offer to. See Get Work Done With the Swivel Assistant.
Where Answers Come From
Section titled “Where Answers Come From”Help answers come from the Swivel help center (this site). The assistant does not answer from other products’ documentation or from guesses about Swivel.
When the help center does not cover your question, the assistant says so and offers to bring in the team: “I don’t have an answer for that one. Want me to bring in someone from the team?” Click Yes, bring in the team to hand the chat to a person. See Talk to a Person and Track Your Tickets.
Questions the help center could not answer go on a list the Swivel team uses to write and improve articles.
The Assistant Knows the Page You Are On
Section titled “The Assistant Knows the Page You Are On”Each message you send includes the page you are on: its name, its address, and the records it shows. So you can ask about what is in front of you, such as “What does this field do?” or “Add a note to her record.”
When you start a new chat, the assistant greets you with the page’s name, for example “You’re on Contacts. Ask me about it, or anything else in Swivel.”
Above the message box, a tag reads Using and the page’s name. To send a message without the page:
- Find the Using tag above the message box.
- Click the X on the tag (its label is “Don’t send this page”).
- Send your message.
When you go to another page, the tag comes back with that page’s name.
The assistant gets the page’s name, address and record IDs only. It never receives the text on the page.
Add a Screenshot or a File
Section titled “Add a Screenshot or a File”You can show the assistant what you see.
- Click the + button next to the message box.
- Choose one:
- Screenshot this page (your browser asks for permission first; this option shows only in browsers that support it)
- Upload a file
- Upload a photo or image
- Type your question and send it.
You can also drag files onto the chat window or paste them into the message box. You can attach images, PDFs, spreadsheets, documents and text files: up to 10 files in one message, each up to 40 MB, and 45 MB together.
The assistant opens an attached file only when it is 5 MB or smaller. It can’t read a larger file. For a help question, it reads the newest 3 files in the chat, and only images and PDFs.
Help Is Always Free
Section titled “Help Is Always Free”Help questions never use AI credits. The assistant answers them even when your account has no AI credits left.
A new chat shows this note: “Help questions are free. Looking up or changing your Swivel data uses your account’s AI credits.” See AI Credits and the Swivel Assistant.
Can I ask follow-up questions?
Section titled “Can I ask follow-up questions?”Yes. The assistant reads the whole chat, so you can ask “What about for a trust?” after an answer about households.
