Meet the Swivel Assistant
What the Swivel Assistant is, where to find it in Swivel, what each tab does, and who can use it.
What the Swivel Assistant Is
Section titled “What the Swivel Assistant Is”The Swivel Assistant is an AI assistant that lives in a chat window inside Swivel. You can:
- Ask for help: it answers questions about Swivel from this help center. See Ask the Swivel Assistant for Help.
- Get work done: tell it what you need, and it looks things up and makes changes in your Swivel account for you, with your permissions. See Get Work Done With the Swivel Assistant.
- Reach the team: it hands the chat to the support team or fills in a support ticket for you. See Talk to a Person and Track Your Tickets.
Who can do this: Every Swivel user. There is nothing to turn on.
Open the Swivel Assistant
Section titled “Open the Swivel Assistant”- Find the round button with the sparkles icon in the bottom-right corner of any Swivel page.
- Click it. The Swivel Assistant window opens, with the line “Ask anything about Swivel” under its name.
- Type your question or request in the box at the bottom and press Enter.
The window stays open while you move between pages, so you can keep working while the assistant answers.
When the team or the assistant replies while the window is closed, a badge on the button shows how many replies you have not read.
The Three Tabs
Section titled “The Three Tabs”The window has three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Chat | The chat you are in now. |
| History | Your past chats with the assistant and the team. Click one to open it, or click New chat to start over. |
| Tickets | The support tickets you have sent, with each ticket’s status and the team’s replies. |
What You See in the Chat
Section titled “What You See in the Chat”- Team status: the header shows whether someone from the support team is online. When nobody is, it reads “The team is away. They reply here and by email.”
- AI credits gauge: a small fuel gauge in the header shows how many AI credits your account has left. See AI Credits and the Swivel Assistant.
- Status line: while the assistant works, a line under its answer says what it is doing, such as “Thinking” or “Searching the help center…”.
- Related articles: a help answer can end with links to the help-center articles it came from.
The box at the bottom tells you what the assistant can do on the page you are on:
- Ask, or tell me what to do… means the assistant can answer questions and do work in your account.
- Ask a question… means the assistant can answer questions, fill in tickets and bring in the team, but cannot make changes from this page.
The window follows Swivel’s light and dark modes.
Who Can Use It
Section titled “Who Can Use It”- Every user in a Swivel account can ask for help and have the assistant do work, within that user’s role and access code. See Security and Permissions.
- Reseller users have the assistant on reseller pages for help, tickets and the team. It does not make changes there.
- When you view another account as a reseller, or view a downline account through Network View, the assistant does not act in that account. It acts only for the account’s own users.

Section titled “Is the Swivel Assistant the same as Ask AI?”No. Ask AI is a separate Swivel feature. Both use your account’s AI credits.
